Nine Aussies will attempt to run the gauntlet and take out the 153rd edition of the iconic British Open beginning on the 17th of July at the Royal Portrush in Northern Ireland.
Australia will be represented by a sturdy group of contenders who can imminently take out the entire tournament, and give Australians watching from home a bit of dazzling viewing.
Australia’s most categorical chances at The Open come from Adam Scott and Jason Day, the veteran and experienced campaigners, both epitomising consistency at the highest form, and granting the golfing world some magical performances over the years.
Could they do it again?
Adam Scott is coming off a phenomenal performance at the US Open in the most recent major. Despite some poor luck and weather, by virtue of his amazing ball striking, he found himself within a shot of the lead in the final round.

The Queenslander is playing some amazing golf, and he is no stranger to strong links golf performances having secured six top 10 finishes in his career.
An illusive second major would be a remarkable story, and he is every chance to enjoy a successful showing.

Additionally, Jason Day makes the journey to Northern Ireland with a foundation of significant form behind him.
An encouraging display at the US Open finishing T23 with a second round 67, and a 4th place at the Travelers a week later give a beam of hope for the 37-year-old too, like Scott claim his second major.
Although, Day has his demons at this event, only notching the one top 10 finish, that being in his 2015 World Number 1 year.
With that being said, it is impossible to rule Jason Day out, especially with his coveted short game that is paramount, and in the upper echelon of world golf.
Furthermore, 2022 Champion; Cameron Smith cannot be ruled out. Despite enduring the coldest streak of his career with five straight missed cuts at majors.
Form is temporary and class is permanent, and this has shown as Smith has recently garnered some momentum on the LIV Golf tour with several top 10 placings in April and May.
If Cameron Smith can find a significant number of fairways, it is commonly known his putter will do the rest.

Nostalgia is a pivotal part of narratives in sport, and Cameron Smith could shake the rust in 2025 and deliver one of the almightiest triumphs at Portrush.
And finally, for Min Woo Lee, his characteristic penetrating ball flight and powerful tee box prowess should hold him in great shape for the British Open.
In the face of a disappointing missed cut at the US Open, Min must regain his links form to give him a sniff in claiming his maiden major title.
Lee is a past Scottish Open champion and has won PGA titles in windy terrain for example a Vic Open at 13th Beach.

If Min Woo Lee, like the Chef he is nicknamed can combine all the ingredients, he could taste a delicious British Open triumph.
However, the usual suspects remain the almighty chances to reign victorious at Portrush. The likes of: Rory McIlroy, Scottie Scheffler and Jon Rahm have put the runs on the board and deserve to be seen as the favourites to win.
But has the world ever been against a surprise Aussie triumph?
