De Koning, who has been steadily rising for the Blues, had a breakout season in 2024 to become one of the most promising young talents in the league.
The 25-year-old edged out Marc Pittonet and became the number one ruckman for Carlton before fracturing his foot and missing the end of their season.
His physical prowess and aerial ability, combined with his high football IQ and agility, have evidently caught the eyes of St Kilda, who are looking to lure him to Moorabbin on a multi-million dollar deal.

Sam Edmund broke the news on SEN Breakfast this morning about St Kilda’s lucrative offer.
“It’s the Saints who have once again stunned industry figures with an apparent willingness to splash enormous cash,” Edmund said.
“While it must be stressed that no offer has been formally tabled, multiple sources familiar with the situation said the Saints have indicated they would be prepared to give De Koning a seven-year contract worth close to $12 million.
“The eye-watering deal would equate to around $1.7 million a season.
“It means that even if De Koning chose to stay at Carlton in that scenario, he would be sacrificing somewhere in the vicinity of $700,000 a season, or conservatively, around $4 million over the life of the contract.”
De Koning grew up playing alongside current St Kilda player Hunter Clark, as they both suited up for Padua College and Mount Martha Football Club.
The 204 cm ruck averaged 16.6 disposals and 20 hit-outs in 2024 and has improved every season since being drafted by Carlton with pick 30 in the 2017 AFL draft.
